Voting Begins for Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good Program

In March, we told you about Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program. Through 100 Cars for Good, Toyota will donate 100 vehicles to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days.

Five hundred finalists were selected and announced on April 25th, representing non-profits from every state in the country. For the following 100 days, five finalists will be profiled on the Toyota Facebook page, where fans can vote on which nonprofit they find deserving of the win.

“Toyota congratulates all of this year’s finalists,” said Jim Lentz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Motor Sales.  “We are grateful for the enormous impact that these nonprofits have each day, and we hope that 100 Cars for Good will play an important role in raising awareness of their work and helping these vital community organizations make an even bigger difference.  We wish each of the finalists the best of luck and thank all of the nonprofit groups that participated in the application process.”

Winners can receive a Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Prius v, Sienna minivan, Sienna Mobility, or Tundra along with a six-year 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

If you would like to cast your vote, visit the Toyota Facebook page and check out today’s finalists. To learn more about the cars available to the winners, visit the Toyota of Nashua site or come on down to the dealership to test drive the real thing.

Toyota Entune Competes with Top In-Car Entertainment Systems

At this point in time, automakers are spending a lot of time and effort on designing in-car entertainment systems that set their brand apart from the competition. It is amazing how many different features and options are available in today’s cars, and Toyota intends to prove that they have some of the best features available when it comes to in-car entertainment and convenience.

Toyota Entune is a suite of in-car entertainment and convenience options, allowing drivers to connect to their vehicles via smart phone. Through this connection, drivers can stream audio, update software and access the Toyota app store, which includes popular applications like Pandora, iHeartRadio, Open Table and more. Drivers also have the ability to access Microsoft search engine, Bing.

In addition to features like the USB port, XM satellite radio and HD radio, Toyota Entune also provides easy access to real-time traffic updates, weather, sports scores and information, as well as stock prices. Of course, safety is always a concern and minimizing driver distractions is essential, which is why Toyota Entune is equipped with voice recognition capabilities to ensure safe operation of the navigation and entertainment features.

Toyota has announced that the all-new 2013 Toyota RAV4 EV will make its long awaited debut at the 26th International Electric Vehicle Symposium, which takes place in Los Angeles on May 7, 2012.

Aside from a close-up shot of the vehicle’s logo, Toyota has not released any additional information about the redesigned RAV4, whose arrival has been anticipated since the announcement of Toyota’s collaboration with Tesla nearly two years ago – leaving us wondering how similar or different the “reengineered” Toyota RAV4 EV will be compared to the prototype seen in this video.

KBB Names Toyota Highlander and Toyota Sienna Among Top 10 Three-Row Vehicles

Kelley Blue Book just released their 2012 picks for the best 3-row vehicles under $30,000, and Toyota of Nashua is pleased to share that the 2012 Toyota Highlander and the 2012 Toyota Sienna were both among the top 10 vehicles chosen.

KBB calls the seven-passenger Highlander the perfect choice for the growing family, offering a ride that is “class leading smooth,” as well as  sophistication and elegant features more commonly found in luxury SUVs. The Highlander’s responsive 3.5-liter V6 delivers ample power upon request, making 270 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque, while the 2.7-liter four-cylinder option rivals best in class power and fuel economy, delivering 187 horsepower, 186 lb-ft of torque, and 20/25 mpg (city/highway). A Hybrid option is also available.

Not to be outdone, the 2012 Sienna also received some well-deserved recognition for its ability to seat up to eight passengers and for being the only minivan on the market offering AWD. The Sienna stands strong among the best in its class, offering a variety of seating arrangements to complement passenger needs and plenty of leg room across all three rows. And there is no shortage of entertainment. The Sienna is available with a Dual-View Entertainment Center, capable of playing two movies simultaneously. Two powertrains are available. The 3.5-liter V6 delivers 266 horsepower and makes 18/25 mpg, while the 2.7-liter four-cylinder offers 187 horsepower and 19/24 mpg.

Toyota Prius c Rated #1 Best Green Car for 2012

prius c

The brand-new 2012 Prius c has been named the Best Green Car of 2012 by Kelley Blue Book.  For Kelley Blue Book’s review visit http://www.kbb.com/car-reviews-and-news/top-10/10-best-green-cars-2012/?selectedindex=1.

As the latest addition to the Prius family of vehicles, the Prius c is the most affordable and fuel efficient member yet.

The fuel efficiency of the 2012 Prius c is unmatched by any small hybrid in its class, getting an estimated 53 miles per gallon in the city and 46 miles per gallon on the highway.  The 53 mpg city is the highest rating of any vehicle that does not have a plug.   These numbers make it the perfect car for a customer to get around the city in while still maintaining financial peace of mind at the pump.

Owning a fuel efficient hybrid has become an attainable goal with the 2012 Prius c.  The Prius c is the most affordable in the Prius family, and one of the most affordable hybrids on the market.  As many consumers have stayed away from purchasing previously expensive hybrids, the Prius c could open the market and set the precedence for Hybrid vehicles in the future.
